Haiti 2011–Photographs of Ozark Teen Challenge directors and young men on their mission trip to Haiti to minister and share God’s word. Ozark Teen Challenge teamed with breaking free from… in putting the words ” BREAKINGFREE with Teen Challenge in Haiti 2011″ on the white bracelets. We were touched, inspired and know that we are there to help those in Haiti and everywhere! These bracelets were worn as their constant companion to help them on their journey as well as give them to the people in Haiti. Quote from director: “We have already had so many miracles, the youth of Haiti is hungry for the Lord.”

Breaking Free From/Not Perfect at Acquire the Fire Event
February 10-11, 2012
Breaking Free From/Not Perfect was honored to participate at the Acquire the Fire event at Kemper Arena as a vendor. We were accepted because of our message. This being a teen oriented event, we took our 2 granddaughters who gained new direction and insight into their own lives and relationship with God. As an adult attending most of the sessions, I gained a greater awareness of the needs of teens, their need of a relationship with God and their need of being listened to….of breaking free from… and it’s okay…we are “not perfect”....
Breaking Free From/Not Perfect at the Whole Women’s Conference at Westside Family Church
August 24-25, 2012
Breaking Free From/Not Perfect was honored to participate at the Whole Women’s Conference at Westside Family Church in Lenexa. We were one of the few exhibitors. We were told we were a “welcome addition” and they were “hoping for someone like us.” We took our infamous door that was signed by many as a beginning and a step of releasing strongholds. And…what a great experience. We can always learn and God led us here with open arms. We are even wiser and stronger…not perfect however, but we can break free!...
Not Perfect held its “first” presentation at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic School
April 25, 2013
Not Perfect was honored to hold its “first” presentation at OLA for the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. These are five of the 67 youth that attended and they were awesome. They shared, they opened up, they listened, we listened and we all learned from each other. This is just the beginning of spreading the message in the way it is meant. The school has asked for a separate presentation for the staff and also one that would be for grades 1-5. The school requested to keep the signed door permanently. You Bet! Look to the far right in the back on the wall. Someone else was there. We were called. Thank You Jesus. Thank you Our Lady of the Angels. Thank you “Not Perfect” team!
Not Perfect at ReachKCK
March 19, 2014
Not Perfect was honored to give their presentation at ReachKCK, a new youth ministry of the Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas. "I was blown away by their performance" exclaimed Liz Miller, WyCo Urban Youth Outrewach Coordinator. "We will doing many more things together". While many teens and pre-teens attended, adults showed up to see what "not perfect" was about The event was .powerful and the youth reached out to us afterward to share their stories and asked when we were coming back. We were elated when we found a large note from several youth thanking us and saying they "trust" us. . We were honored & excited to have a reporter and photographer from the Leaven, a Catholic newspaper attend. Coverage will be featured in the Leaven on March 28th. We took our staple, an old door signed by all as to what they want to or are breaking free from. "We do get to keep the door, don't we? asked Liz. "This is a great reminder of their commitment and an inspiration to them." The door will remain at ReachKCK and we couldn't be happier. Thank you ReachKCK and Thank you “Not Perfect” team!
Not Perfect Diggin' Up the Dirt at Reach KCK 6/11/14.
Not Perfect's Event was called "Diggin up the Dirt" Below is what the event was all about.
I1) The youth went outside and dug up dirt to beautify the grounds
2) While diggin up the outside dirt they thought about diggin up the dirt inside of them (whatever it may be).
3) They wrote down on a piece of paper the “dirt” they wanted to let go of, planting the paper with the outside dirt, in a clay pot.
4) The paper will decompose in the dirt in hopes of breaking free from the inside “dirt”
5) They then planted seeds in the pot as a sign of starting anew.
6) I then read a poem I wrote called “Diggin up the Dirt”
7) No words can express how rewarding this was and how good it felt to be there “diggin up the dirt” with all of these wonderful youth'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. I’m a great place for you to tell a story and let your users know a little more about you.
Not Perfect at Hillcrest Transitional Housing--July 10,2014
Not Perfect was honored to present our message to the youth at Hillcrest Transitional Housing in KCK. Hillcrest discovered "not perfect" by our staple "the old door" we take to be signed at our presentations that was kept at another event. We were elated. This event was truly touching, forever in our hearts... and confirms that all we do is to reach out and help God's people everywhere!. These beautiful youth opened up, cried, connected, shared and when they signed the door, pulled us over so we could read their declarations as to what they want to break free from. We incorporated some new acitivites that even the managers partipated in. Hill crest commented in their thank you to us "The teens truly enjoyed hearing all the testimonies and still talk about the IMPACT it made on them!"
We are excited to partner with Hillcrest and do more with them to help inspire, motivate, "listen" share and just be there for our youth, We are not perfect but we CAN break free!
After 2 suicides at Olathe Northwest, a group reached out to us saying "God led us to you and we are thankful to find you, would you present at our event on suicide awareness?" Not Perfect was prepared and honored to present "suicide awareness" to teens and parents.Shawn Gaupp( in photo )spoke on suicide, perfection and more. We had one of our team talk on the huge void and effect of her son's death who was a victim of suicide at the age of 14.. There were additional testimonies, along with music videos for inspiration, question and answer session and more. You bet, we had an old door there for all to sign as to what they wanted to release/break free from. This door is more than a door, it is a tool for letting go and powerful with our mission and purpose. God prepared us. We are his feet doing his work. We will always remember the lives of Cady and Caira that were a gift. We reiterate..if ANYONE mentions they are thinking about suicide report it immediately. You could help save a life. Please Print out one of our What Now cards for resources. "Tell someone you love today, that you love them." (our granddaughter attendsONW where these two girls also attended and this group had no idea when they reached out to NP)
